Kazimierz Sichulski

An ageing faun - looking distinctly downcast - has put aside his flute and rests on a bench beside a tree stripped bare of foliage. He stretches a hand towards a barely burning bonfire of autumn leaves. The mood is introspective, evoking nostalgia for summers past. Sichulski has employed characteristically decorative dabs of paint for the rendering of the magentas and yellows of the autumn landscape.
